The podcast clarifies the identity of the Creator with evidence from astronomy and human history. It adds significantly to the book with brief episodes averaging 5 to 6 minutes.
The book presents important depth. The format is a dialogue between a pastor and a first year college student. It is presented in single page readings. Their discussions address the limits of physical science. The book’s focus is the case for a God-created universe, and science of human history. The Science of Human Events crosses the span of human history.
Beneath the book's title, The Marriage of Science and the Bible is a question: Is science complete without the Bible?
Physical science is limited. As a source of truth, it leaves a tremendous void. At the same time, scientists say that human events cannot qualify as a science. No scientist can display and test laws that accurately predict distant human events.
Our Creator is the only source that answers scientist’s challenge. The prophet Isaiah was confronting the claims of the false gods of his day. He said, “Tell us what the former things were, so that we may consider them and know their final outcome.” He was telling them to describe the themes of history from beginning to end. He continued, “Or declare to us the things to come, tell us what the future holds, so we may know that you are gods.”
God has demonstrated his authority over physical science. He has revealed truths about our planet and the universe that led to the birth of modern science. Many cosmic details in the Bible were not discovered by astronomers until the 20th century. Data collected by satellites confirm the accuracy of truths that could only come from the Creator of the universe. Our Creator has retained history as His domain. With themes of history and specific predictions He has done what only God could do. He has shown His purposes across four thousand years of accurately predicted human events.
The great issues of life have no answer in a world of “relative truth.” Without a source of truth we only have conflicting opinions. The important issues of life can only be resolved if there is a reliable source of truth.
