EPISODE 11 DANIEL'S FRAMEWORK OF HISTORY

PART 2          THE LIVING TRUTH

INTRODUCTION

In Part 1 the Creator identified himself by providing the steps that led to the birth of modern science in the Middle-Ages.

The Creator identified himself in the 20th century, with four major discoveries– popularly known as the “Big Bang.” The discoveries had been previously recorded in the Bible.

The Creator established the significance of man by creating the complex conditions for human life, and selecting conditions that would allow man to see, analyze, appreciate and travel in the universe He created.

The Creator continued to communicate with man by providing a Science of Human Events. It is a science beyond the capabilities of human scientists, but its proofs are found in major historical issues and events. It instructs us on the great issues of life.

In Part 2 the Creator has provided us with a Messiah, a living example of the Creator’s attitudes, values and instructions. It is presented here with powerful scientific confirmations.

EPISODE 11        DANIEL’S FRAMEWORK OF HISTORY

EPISODE 12A PHYSICAL SCIENCE AND LIFE AFTER DEATH

Mathematical predictions are the most precise form of scientific evidence. Daniel’s 490 year prediction was divided into two parts: 483 years, then 7 more years following a long gap of time. The years are based on the 360 day Jewish calendar year. The first 483 years equaling 173,880 days.

The prophet Daniel was taken captive when the Babylonians conquered Judah and Jerusalem. He received his message during the 70 year exile.

The prediction had a specific beginning. A decree would be signed allowing Jews to return and rebuild Jerusalem. The first 483 years would conclude with the arrival of the Jewish Messiah – the one Anointed by God to be king. Based on the Jewish year it would be exactly 173,880 days from the decree to the arrival of the Jewish Messiah. As predicted, his home would be in Nazareth, he would be born in Bethlehem, his lineage - a direct descendant of king David. He would be both a man of peace and a conqueror. These requirements had been forecast by the prophets.

Mathematics are the most reliable evidence in science. An example is the ability of astronomers to predict the location and time of eclipses. The beginning date in Daniel’s framework is recorded in scripture. It was the 20th year of King Artaxerces’ reign, the first day of the month of Nissan. 173,880 days later, Jesus fulfilled the prophecy. He did not arrive in a chariot or on a white horse as a conqueror. He arrived humbly on a small, young donkey, a man of peace. He arrived on a Sunday and was welcomed by a crowd.

The Messiah’s arrival completed Part 1, the first 483 years of the 490 year prediction.

Daniel continued, after the King’s arrival, “He will be cut-off and have nothing.”  Jesus arrived on Sunday, on Friday He was crucified by envious religious leaders.

His tomb was sealed and Roman guards were posted because Jesus had provided a strong clue that He would rise on the third day. On Sunday morning the grave was empty and the Roman guards were gone. The guards’ punishment would have been death, it was not. The story that circulated was that Jewish religious leaders defended them to keep them from telling what they had seen. That same day Jesus spoke with several of his followers. They had been hiding behind locked doors, fearful that they would be crucified like their leader. After talking and eating with Jesus they became bold. Witnessing boldly, they even stood before the Jewish ruling body, the Sanhedrin.

The apostles were brought in and made to appear before the Sanhedrin to be questioned by the high priest.

“We gave you strict orders not to teach in this name,” he said. “Yet you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and are determined to make us guilty of this man’s blood.”

Peter and the other apostles replied: “We must obey God rather than human beings! The God of our ancestors raised Jesus from the dead – whom you killed by hanging him on a cross. God exalted him to his own right hand as Prince and Savior that he might bring Israel to repentance and forgive their sins.

We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him.”

When they heard this, they were furious and wanted to put them to death. But a Pharisee named Gamaliel, a teacher of the law, who was honored by all the people, stood up in the Sanhedrin and ordered that the men be put outside for a little while.

Then he addressed the Sanhedrin:. ‘Men of Israel, consider carefully what you intend to do to these men.’” Acts 5:27-35

Gamaliel recounted how others had led revolts and failed. He concluded, “Therefore, in the present case I advise you: Leave these men alone! Let them go! For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail. But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God.’

His speech persuaded them.” Acts 5:38-40

The Jews expected a Messiah that would come as a conqueror to drive out the Romans and establish a Jewish kingdom.

Jesus came as the solution for all mankind, the solution to the world’s sin problem. The Creator humbled himself, voluntarily taking on the form of a human being. He came as the perfect, sinless sacrifice, to pay the penalty for mankind and offer his forgiveness to all who do not reject his gift.

These were the events that immediately followed Daniel’s 483 year prediction. In science, it is among the most improbable claims or hypotheses ever recorded, tested and fulfilled.

Approximately forty years later Israel revolted against Rome. They were defeated and scattered worldwide. In the future Jesus will return as conqueror and then king.

There are seven years to come in Daniel’s prophecy. They will begin after Israel’s return from their exile. The event that will trigger the last seven years will be the peace treaty in the Middle East that the world has been waiting for.
